Esther Lynn Pettry, 62, passed away on April 6, 2020, in Birmingham, Alabama after an eight-year battle with colon cancer. She was born to Idella and the late William Ernest Pettry on April 18, 1957, in Huntington, West Virginia. She graduated from Erwin High School in 1975. She worked as a successful laboratory equipment salesperson in Mobile, Alabama for many years. Esther is survived by her loving daughter, Amanda, who she affectionately called her "My miracle baby", her mother, Idella, siblings Rachel (husband David), Steve (wife Sharon), and John (wife Sherry) and her numerous nieces and nephews. Esther’s strength and kindness endeared her to all who knew her. She loved being outside, enjoying nature, gardening, watching deer, birds, rabbits, and her favorite past time…bush hogging. In light of current events surrounding the corona virus and respecting restrictions in place during this difficulty time, Celebration of Life service arrangements will be announced at a later date to ensure the safety of our friends and family. In lieu of flowers, Esther requested donations e made to Alabama Teen Challenge in support for the addition’s recovery and Christian discipleship program for men and women struggling with life-controlling issues.
